"..for a long as you both
shall live"
Your dream wedding has to be more than just proper. Or impressive. It has to be you. Which means that first you have to make some basic choices about the style of wedding you want: |
| Formal. This means engraved invitations
with separate reception cards, a beautiful, elegant setting, and a large
reception. Plus one usher for every 50 guests and 4-12 attendants (number
of attendants doesn't depend on number of guests)
Semi-formal. A single, engraved or handwritten invitation for both wedding and reception will do, or it may be handwritten. Simple decorations can be made by friends or family. You don’t need as many attendants. And the ceremony and reception are often held in the same place. Informal. No rules — just do your thing. Handwritten or telephone invitations are fine. And the location could be anywhere: your mom’s living room, a garden, on a ship or even the warm sands of the nearest beach. |

The gold circle of the wedding ring symbolizes the unbroken circle of eternity, and the permanence of your relationship. That’s why, in your wedding vows, you’ll promise to love each other "as long as you both shall live." Some people have changed those words to say "as long as our love shall last." With an attitude like that, chances are it won’t last long. |
